Your Results
We are trying to improve the ways you can receive your test results.
At peak times, the telephone lines are invariably busy, so it is best to telephone for test results between 2pm – 4pm.
For tests conducted at the practice, you can use our Test Results Request Form.
Hospital Courier Service
Specimens to be tested at the hospital, at the request of your doctor, must be brought into the surgery by 11.00am, as samples go to Chase Farm Hospital at around 12.30pm by courier.
When the test results will be available?
Please allow 7 working days before chasing all test results.
Smear Test results are given by letter from the hospital.
For investigations ordered by a hospital doctor please ask at the hospital how they intend to relay the result to you.
Further Information
We request that you do not assume that a result is normal if we do not contact you. The surgery will contact you if there is a significant problem with your results, but please contact us for all results as the GP may have made some suggestions or advice based on your results even if there is not a significant problem.
We do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
Tests conducted outside of the practice
If tests have not been requested by the practice, please consult the clinic where the test was requested/the doctor who requested the tests, for results.
For more information about your test results please contact the Hospital, Urgent Care Centre or Minor Injuries Unit where the test was conducted.
